UNLOCKING YOUR DEVICE

Your phone must be network unlocked to use the UK & Europe Phone SIM Card. If your phone is not network unlocked then the SIM Card won't work at all, and you won't get a refund. "Network unlocked" means that you can use your phone with a different network SIM Card. An easy way to test if your phone is network unlocked is to insert into it a different network SIM Card and confirm that it connects to the different network.

Please contact your network provider for further details about unlocking your phone. If you have an iPhone then the official Apple website instructions explain more about how to unlock an iPhone. We're unable to unlock your phone, nor can we tell you if your phone is unlocked: it is entirely your responsibility to check and make sure that your phone is network unlocked. If your phone is not network unlocked then the SIM Card won't work at all, and you won't get a refund.

DEVICE COMPATIBILITY

Your phone must be technically compatible to use the UK & Europe Phone SIM Card. If your phone is not technically compatible then the SIM Card won't work at all, and you won't get a refund. "Technically compatible" means that it operates of the right frequencies for the UK.

All models of iPhones (including the most recent model) are technically compatible with the UK & Europe SIM Card (provided your iPhone is also network unlocked).

Most other Smartphones are also compatible provided your phone operates on either or both the following frequencies: 4G (800MHz and/or 4G 1800MHz) or 3G (2100MHz). All models of iPhone (including the most recent model iPhone) are technically compatible. Most other recent model Smartphones are also compatible. For an easy way to find if your phone is technically compatible, use the search feature at the Will My Phone Work website: select "United Kingdom" as the country, then select "3" from the carrier list. If your phone is not technically compatible then the SIM Card won't work at all, and you won't get a refund.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes, you can hotspot your phone when you're in the UK and share the data with your laptop, iPad, Tablet or other device.
  • Your UK SIM Card can be used across the UK. The UK comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (but not the Republic of Ireland).  So this means when you are in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland you can use your 12GB data, 300 minutes of calls to UK landlines and UK mobiles (including other people using our SIM Card) and 3,000 texts to UK mobiles (including other people using our SIM Card).
  • If you are traveling to the Republic of Ireland (eg Dublin) please note that this is not part of the UK. When you're in the Republic of Ireland (i) you can use up to 9GB of your data allowance (at speeds up to 3G) and (ii) calls and texts to other people using our SIM Card come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and (iii) calls and texts to UK landlines and UK mobiles come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and (iv) calls and texts to local numbers in the same country come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and and (vi) Hotspot will not work on your phone (you won't be able to connect your Tablet, iPad or Laptop to your phone).
  • If you are traveling to the Republic of Ireland (eg Dublin) please note that this is not part of the UK. When you're in the Republic of Ireland (i) you can use up to 9GB of your data allowance (at speeds up to 3G) and (ii) calls and texts to other people using our SIM Card come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and (iii) calls and texts to UK landlines and UK mobiles come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and (iv) calls and texts to local numbers in the same country come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and and (vi) Hotspot will not work on your phone (you won't be able to connect your Tablet, iPad or Laptop to your phone).

  • WWhen you're in the UK, it costs £0.03/min (3p/min) to call an Australian landline number or an Australian mobile numbers and £0.252 (25.2p) to text an Australian mobile number.
  • When you're in the included 34 European countries, it costs £1.40/min to call an Australian landline or Australian mobile and £0.016 (1.6p) to text an Australian mobile.
  • You can also use your SIM Card in Israel as follows: (i) calls and texts to local numbers in Israel cost £1.40/minute and 2p/text and (ii) you can use all of your 12GB data allowance (at speeds up to 3G) and (iii) hotspot on your phone will not work and (iv) calls and texts to other people using our SIM Card come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts and (v) calls and texts to UK landlines and UK mobiles come from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts.
  • When you're in the 34 European countries you won't be able to use hotspot on your phone, and data speeds will be 3G.

  • Calling and texting to Australia is not included when you’re in the UK or in Europe: you'll need to add extra credit once you receive your UK Phone SIM Card.
  • When you're in the UK, it costs £0.03/min (3p/min) to call an Australian landline or an Australian mobile and £0.252 (25.2p) to text an Australian mobile.
  • When you're in the included 34 European countries, it costs £1.40/min to call an Australian landline or Australian mobile and £0.016 (1.6p) to text an Australian mobile.
  • We recommend that customers use apps like Viber and WhatsApp to call or text Australia (because apps only use data).
  • Calling and texting to local numbers when you're in the 34 European countries comes from your included 300 minutes and 3,000 texts. For example, if you were in Paris, and called your local Paris hotel, the call minutes would come from your included 300 minutes.
  • If you use up all of the included 300 minutes and/or 3,000 texts, then it costs £0.03/min (3p/min) to call a UK landline or UK mobile, and £0.02 (2p) to text a UK mobile and you'll need to add extra credit.
  • To add extra credit to your UK Phone Sim, wait until you receive it from us, then purchase a recharge voucher on our website. Full details will come with your sim card about how to do this but you can also read more about how to add extra credit on your UK SIM Card.
  • The UK Phone SIM Card is posted to you from Sydney and comes with a local UK mobile number that you'll know before you leave Australia.
  • The UK Phone SIM Card self-activates in your phone within minutes of arrival in the UK or Europe and you don't need access to a computer to activate it.
  • Full instructions come with the sim card about how to activate it and use it.
  • Using our SIM Card doesn't change your apps, contacts, emails or any other settings on your phone because they are all stored on your phone, and not on your SIM Card.
  • We use the Three UK mobile network - which covers 98% of the UK population: to check coverage in a specific area, enter the address into the Three UK Coverage Checker. When in Europe, the UK SIM card will roam onto different local networks.
  • Recharge on our website with £20 and get another 30 days of 12GB data, 300 UK minutes and 3000 UK texts. Unused data, minutes and texts do not rollover. You can keep recharging again every 30 days if you're staying even longer (you can keep recharging forever if you want).
  • If you buy our UK Phone SIM Card (for your phone), your prepaid plan lasts for 30 days. If you’re staying longer, just recharge on our website for another 30 days. You can re-use the UK Phone SIM Card again within 6 months of its last recharge (the initial activation of the SIM Card is the first recharge). After 6 months without a recharge the SIM Card is permanently and forever cancelled, cannot be re-used and the UK mobile number cannot be retrieved for further use.
  • If you buy our UK Data SIM Card (for your iPad, Tablet or Mobile Hotspot), your prepaid plan lasts for 90 days. If you’re staying longer or run out of data, just recharge on our website to get more data. You can re-use the UK Data SIM Card again within 6 months of its last recharge (the initial activation of the SIM Card is the first recharge). After 6 months without a recharge the SIM Card is permanently and forever cancelled and cannot be re-used.
  • Your SIM card is posted from Sydney on the next business day after you order (we don't post on the same day). We use Australia Post.
  • You can choose Registered Post (for $4.50) or Express Post (for $7.50). If you urgently need a SIM card please choose Express Post.
  • Registered Post takes a full 5-10 business days to be delivered and requires a signature on delivery. If you're not at home to sign for it, you'll have to collect it from your local post office.
  • Express Post takes 1 business day (after we post it) only if you're in the Australia Post Express Post Network (which includes the metropolitan areas of most major cities). To find out if you're in the Express Post network, please visit the Australia Post website and check if your post code is in the "Express Post delivery postcodes" list. If you're in Perth please note that the only post codes included are 6000-6005 and 6800-6899.
